Life Without Parole

Life Without Parole

Our newest page is about life without parole.   Life without parole (LWOP) is something no family wants to hear at sentencing. It is a heart breaking event. The article was written by a LWOP inmate in the California corrections system. He has some interesting insights and suggestions for families of loved ones with a life without parole (LWOP) sentence.  It’s also beneficial for any family struggling with a long term incarceration.

Ken has served over 34 years of his life sentence and writes a direct, to-the-point article on what to expect. If your loved one is serving LWOP you will recognize many of the tribulations he writes about.  Some of the information is based on his experience in the California system which may or may not be exactly like our corrections system here in Ohio.  However, his advice regarding do’s and don’ts along with some reality checks make it worth your time to read.

It’s not always a easy read as reality may sink in on exactly what life without parole will mean to your family, but it is written from the heart and well worth your time.
